| Storyline Shari and her friends all subscribe to 'Dixi' - a Facebook like social network for tweens. This is the place where they post updates on what they're doing, share their thoughts, play games, take part in online polls, upload photos and videos, etc. Shari learns that her profile has been hacked - photos defaced, embarrassing, crude insulting updates added. Not only that, but Shari has been locked out of her own account. But Shari won't give up and simply start a new profile - she's going to get her page back AND find whoever did this. This show has been created for a younger/teens audience by Kindle Entertainment for on-line only, to highlight the dangers of Internet use, by our younger generation. It does a fantastic job, using both comedy and mystery to convey really important messages in real life and coincidently one of the music video's in the show is called IRL (in real life)
ReplyDeleteThe show revolves around Shari, a wonderful and over the top teen (an amazing actress, portraying her character brilliantly) who has her Dixi page hacked and so she sets out to find out who the killer is. We get to watch the mystery unfold with 2 daily video vlogs and photographs.
Dixi aims to encourage children/teens to enjoy the resourcefulness of the Internet but also encouraging them to think about the potential dangers of social networking.
Along with Shari are her two besties, Eve, a cool, calm and collected character who seems to be the sensible one of the three and of course Isla, who is a bit ditsy and is the singer of the bunch! These guys bounce of each other really well and show their friendship to be genuine and believable. The rest of the characters are equally important and each have their own quirky and funny roles.
It's so refreshing to watch a really creative, well written and VERY funny children's program, it really is a MUST for all ages with a serious message!
Quite delightful!
